TRU 2020 SEASON UPDATE

Dear Club Presidents & Representatives,

I hope this message finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe.  

The Toronto Rugby Union has been working on contingency plans in alignment with Rugby Ontario to ensure rugby is ready to start should we get the go-ahead in 2020.  These plans include starting at various times throughout the summer and fall.  

We want our membership to know that for all our leagues we’ll have a complete rugby schedule in place for 2020 should the sport be permitted to resume this year.

Your TRU executive committee are also communicating with Rugby Canada, and Rugby Ontario, to canvass the lowering of registration fees in light of the anticipated effect this pandemic will have on individual registration.  

I can see a lot of rugby clubs are doing their best to keep members engaged online.  Keep up the good work!

Feedback requested from TRU clubs:  Should rugby be permitted to start later this summer, or even in the fall, do you feel your club would be able to field a team(s) this season?  Please email game@torontorugby.ca
