There are many variations to Rugby Union practiced and enjoyed throughout the province.

Toronto Rugby manages the game for clubs in and around the Toronto area for 15s play for the following age groups:

Senior Men Contact 

  • Men’s Premier Division
  • Men’s Premier Second Division
  • Men’s Regional B Divison

Senior Women Contact

Boys U18 & U16 Contact

Girls U18 & U16 Contact

Additionally, each fall Toronto Rugby manages a 7s league that helps to familiarize players with the rules of play of this modified form of rugby union. Information on the 7s program will be available in August.

 

Rugby Ontario, the provincial governing body for the sport of rugby, manages the game for clubs throughout the province for the following age groups:

Senior Men  – Marshall League

The Marshall League is composed of 16 senior men’s teams, and is broken down into two divisions: the Marshall Premiership and the Marshall Championship.  

The Marshall Premiership is made up of the top eight clubs in Ontario (outside of the EORU), based on the results of the 2013 league. These clubs are: Aurora Barbarians, Balmy Beach, Brantford Harlequins, Markham Irish, Oakville Crusaders, Stoney Creek, Toronto Scottish, and Waterloo County. 

The Marshall Championship division serves as Ontario’s second division, and is made up of: Ajax Wanderers, Barrie, Brampton Beavers, Lindsay, London St. George’s, Oshawa Vikings, Peterborough Pagans, and Sarnia Saints. 

Senior Women’s League – OWL

The clubs playing in the OWL in 2014 include: Aurora Barbarians, Oakville Crusaders, Toronto Saracens, Toronto Scottish, Waterloo County, and Yeomen Lions.

Players of all ages, gender and athletic abilities can enjoy passing the ball from hand to hand or scoring a try. Rugby prides itself on being truly all-inclusive and there is a form of the game for everyone, thin or not so thin, young or old, wanting some contact and not wanting contact.
