TRU TO LAUNCH SENIOR WOMEN’S & MEN’S REP XV SQUADS
The Toronto Rugby Union is proud to announce the creation of a senior men’s and women’s representative rugby program. The program will run a TRU Red’s Senior Women’s XV and Senior Men’s XV squads in 2021, and has three main goals;
- For the TRU to offer players exposure to representative rugby at an affordable cost and modest time commitment.
- To help identify and develop rugby talent within clubs from the TRU.
- To showcase high level talent from TRU clubs in a single venue for University teams, Toronto Arrows, and, Rugby Canada selectors, and/or, recruiters.
The TRU is looking for coaching candidates for the head coach (1 per program) and assistant coach (2 per program) roles for both the senior women’s XV squad and senior men’s XV squad. Time commitments would be coaching seven Sunday practice sessions over the summer months, and, coaching the team during a fall tournament and exhibition game(s).
