– Be a part of the success –

Toronto Rugby is offering new and exciting 7s coaching roles for the Toronto Rugby Red’s Elite 7’s team for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Eight positions are available, with two being head coaching roles and the six others being assistant coaching roles with some managing.

TR is looking for new and established coaches to help develop Ontario and Canada’s next top 7’s players. These coaches will develop the TR’s Elite High-Performance players who’s pathway can include the Olympics, Canada Games, FISU, Pan-Am, Provincial Level and age grade Canada players.

In these positions, coaches will have the opportunity to work with some of Canada’s best future 7’s prospects. Some of Canada’s current top 7’s players internationally played for TR and many for the TR Red’s Elite 7’s. Alumni include recent MNSB player for Canada, Josiah Moirra, who played on the TR Red Elite 7’s in 2015, winning NY 7’s Gold Cup. Many high calibre players, like Hannah Darling, John Moonlight, Liam Underwood, Charity Williams and Ghish Landry, have all hailed from the mighty Toronto Rugby Union.

Duties of Toronto Red’s Elite 7’s coaches will include running women’s and men’s U17 programs in 2017 jointly with development squads of the U16’s. The U16 players will eventually become the core group to represent TR at the Ontario Summer Games and New York 7’s in 2018.

Toronto Rugby see’s itself as a growth organization and is committed to developing our coaches, not just our players. Coaches for these 7’s squads will have the opportunity to gain their World Rugby 7’s Level 1 in 2017 as part of their package in 2017.

TR is committed to developing these coaches for a two-year term and will invest funds and resources for certifications. You will work with Ontario and Canada’s top international and national level coaches during your term.

If you have high energy, passion and commitment to the game of rugby, this is your time to get involved. Paid certifications, TR Red’s Elite 7s Kit, flights, meals, accommodations and the joy of coaching are all included.

These positions do not conflict with the Ontario Blues schedules. Weekends and some nights for sessions, combines and tournaments will be required.
