MATCHES SET FOR TRU CUP DAY

September 7, 2019 Fletchers Fields will host the TRU Men’s Finals with four games on the schedule.
The TRU CUP (Keenan Playoff Champion) is set between the Bay Street Pigs RFC and Vaughan Yeomen RFC.  Both clubs finished first & second in the league respectively and it’s fitting that they’re vying for the Cup championship.   The winner will be the TRU representative for the Intermediate Cup for promotion to the Marshal league for 2020.   Kick off is 3 pm.
Bay Street earned their place in the final with a hard fought semi-final win over the Toronto Buccaneers RFC on Aug 17 (15-12).   The Yeomen put in an impressive performance to secure their spot with a win over the Brampton Beavers RFC in their semi-final on August 17 (62-0).
The Intermediate Cup will take place between the last place Marshal East club and the TRU Cup champion with a home & away series on Sept 21 and 28.
The TRU PLATE sees the Buccaneers and the Beavers taking the pitch against each other.   Brampton had a strong regular season, while the Buccaneers finished their season with a string of wins and a close loss in the semi-finals, all of which should make for a great match up.   Kick off is 3 pm.
The TRU BOWL will be the Toronto Dragons RFC and Toronto Saracens RFC playing for some hardware.  The Saracens had a solid regular season finishing fourth in the league.  The Dragons are entering the match with two wins in a row with victories in the relegation final over the Cobourg Saxons RFC, and consolation semi-finals against the Mississauga Blues RFC.   Kick off is 1:30 pm.
The TRU SHIELD (Russell playoff championship) is a match between the two powerhouses of the TRU Russell division; Brock RFC & the Cobourg Saxons RFC.   The two clubs finished 1st & 2nd respectively with Brock finishing 9-1 while Cobourg went 8-1-1.   The only blemishes on each others records being a result of their two head to head match ups (a tie, and a one point win for Brock).   Kick off is 1:30 pm.
Good luck to all clubs!
