MCKENNA | RUSSEL | KEENAN Playoff’s and Champions
|MCKENNA PLAYOFFS
Congratulations to Barrie RFC for winning the West division with an impressive 9-1 record. In the East division it was the Belleville Bulldogs who came out on top of the East division, but was followed closely behind by the Peterborough Pagans and Oshawa Vikings.
The Intermediate Cup for the right to promotion to the OWL was a match up between Barrie & Oshawa. The Vikings won the match with an impressive win and now face the Toronto Scottish in a home and away series on August 10 & 17 for the right to play in the OWL in 2020.
The remaining McKenna clubs are presently playing in the McKenna playoffs. With the quarter finals out of the way, the semi-final match ups are Balmy Beach vs Belleville, and, Barrie vs Peterborough, all on August 10. The winners will play for the McKenna Cup on August 17.

RUSSELL PLAYOFFS
Congratulations to Brock RFC for finishing 1st in the Russell division this year going 9 – 1. As a result, they’ve earned automatic promotion to the Keenan division for 2020 season. The Cobourg Saxons RFC had an equally impressive season finishing a close 2nd in the Russell division, and will be playing the Toronto Dragons RFC on August 10 in a single promotion-relegation game.
The remaining four Russell clubs have the opportunity to continuing playing in the post season as they’ve been matched up for a Russell Playoffs quarterfinals on August 10. Brock and Cobourg will then host the winners of the quarterfinals on August 17. The Russell Playoff Championship (TRU SHIELD) will be held on TRU CUP DAY on Saturday September 7 at Fletchers Fields.
KEENAN PLAYOFFS
The top 6 Keenan clubs will be vying for the TRU CUP championship with the quarter-finals taking place on August 10. 1st & 2nd place Keenan 1 clubs get a bye in the first round and will each host a semi final game, with clubs seeded 3 – 6 playing in the quarter-finals.
Congratulations to the Bay Street Pigs RFC for going 10 – 0 in the Keenan 1st division and impressively finishing with the maximum 50 points in league standings. The Vaughan Yeomen RFC finished 2nd in the Keenan 1st division with a strong season themselves. As a result of finishing 1st and 2nd, the Pigs and Yeomen both earn a first round bye.
The Keenan quarter-finals are Brampton Beavers (3rd place) host the Mississauga Blues (6th place), and the Toronto Saracens (4th place) will be hosting the Toronto Buccaneers (5th place).
The Toronto Dragons (7th place) & Balmy Beach Academy (8th place by way of default) will have the opportunity to play for the TRU Bowl championship by playing the losers of the semi-finals from the August 10 match ups.
Congratulations to the Toronto Saracens RFC for winning the 2019 Keenan 2nd division with an 8-1-1 record.
