U-17 Boys Sevens Captured NYC 7’s Title
On Saturday, November 28, 2015, the Toronto Rugby Reds U-17 Boys Sevens team captured the New York Sevens High School Boys Championship. The team who had previously won the Ontario Interbranch 7’s(Kingston, ON), TIRF Elite 7’s (Toronto, ON) and placed 2nd at the QMeta Cup(Brantford,ON) was led by Tournament all-star Miguel Palij who had six tries in four games. Coach George Azar was quoted after the tournament, “just remember the names of the players on this team, in a few years you’ll see some of them representing Canada.” Captain Jack McRogers echoed his coach by saying “New York was a lot of fun and a great experience. This was one of the best teams I’ve played for.”
