GO FUND ME FOR KERRY SINGH (Huggy)

Please see the following message on behalf of the Balmy Beach Rugby Club:

We are proud to forward to you our latest campaign to support Kerry Singh (Huggy), our teammate and Club Member who suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury (quadriplegia) in 1993 while playing rugby for Balmy Beach.

As many of you know, we at the Balmy Beach Rugby Club have been fundraising over the years to help Huggy with his wheelchair van expenses through sports dinners, auctions, and other in-person fundraising events. Well, this year with COVID-19 it will be a little tougher for us to achieve our goal of $10,000 to help with insurance, service and repair to Huggy’s 2013 Honda Odyssey, which is no longer under warranty. Routine maintenance and repairs to the van, as well as its accessibility equipment can be very expensive. No government grants are available to cover these expenses and disability benefits are very limited.

Huggy has just finished post-graduate studies in Business Analysis. Prior to the pandemic he had a full-time co-op job for a few months, so his future prospects for employment have definitely improved. We are all very proud of Huggy’s recent achievements!
